New products raising awareness of mental health.

No matter your circumstance; at work, school or college, you may be a stay-at-home guardian or a carer - we can often spot signs of changing behaviours in ourselves and those we're closest to.

1 in 6 of us experience a common mental disorder such as depression and anxiety in any given week, meaning you probably know someone who might be struggling.
What are the signs?
Becoming withdrawn, quiet and insular - irritable,
impatient and easily upset.

Appear to be constantly tired, may have experienced appetite changes.

A sense of being less careful about personal hygiene and dress.

Motivation and enthusiasm is difficult - especially with work.

Stress can cause emotional changes as well as physical changes to our body such as headaches, nausea and muscle tension.

These can all be symptoms of depression and anxiety.
How can you help?
When was the last time you checked in on someone you know? A text can be a comforting reminder that a person is not alone.

By simply asking ‘is everything okay’ you could be helping someone more than you know.

Support
Reaching out for help can be difficult, but it’s
important to not let problems fester.

World Mental Health Day

A day about raising awareness and visibility in an effort to influence positive support on Mental Health issues.

Here’s some facts:
- One in four people in the UK will experience a mental health problem in any given year. -Only 13% of Britons are living with high levels of positive mental health.
-In the UK, mental illness is responsible for the largest burden of disease - 28% of the burden, compared to 16% each for cancer and heart disease.

Silvine supports SANE: a UK Mental Health charity who work to improve the quality of life for anyone affected by mental illness. We hope by spreading their message, we can help people to get the help they need, when they need it.

Take note of your own mental health.
Take note of others.
Begin the conversation with your family and friends. Normalise talking about mental health and how you’re doing. Know what’s healthy, and if you’re not sure what is, research, reach out, and identify what you should try to change. #MentalHealthAwarenessDay #ItsOkToNotBeOk #WMHD2019New ParagraphNew Paragraph
Silvine & SANE in Partnership

We’re proud to support SANE: a leading UK mental health charity.

Their mission is to improve the quality of life for anyone affected by mental illness.

The official statistic is that 1 in 5 adults have considered taking their life. If the little that we can do to help is raise awareness of a number they can call when it gets too much, then we consider it worth doing.

Take note of your mental health and that of those around you. Start the conversation, step out of the shadows, support yourselves and each other. Starting the conversation is so important in a world where a few words might save a life.
