We begin suplying Marks & Spencer in Leeds Market, with fashionable 'fancy' books.

Silvine is offically trademarked and we become a Limited Company in 1902. Next, business expands into Woolworths in the US.

We develop sketchbooks with naval and military themes - 'Iron Duke', 'All British', 'The Entente' etc.

All are names that reflected wartime conditions.

We develop stationery for the mass market, including ‘Novelty’ items such as cigarette card albums, greaseproof paper, draught boards and even toilet rolls!

The paper shortage during this time has us making stationery from any kind of paper we can lay our hands on!

Millions of these books are exported to countries around the world, along with the new phenomenon that is the Refill pad!

The recent moon landings inspire ‘Silvine Sam’ - a spaceman who appeared on a range of products, helping children with their spelling and arithmetic.

The Silvine laurel wreath is no more. We develop a rebrand, includng creating a website. We also continue developing new products - all incorporating our new logo.

With reference to our rich history, this logo has a retro feel, whilst maintaining our well know look.
