SUSTAINABLE STATIONERY
Our Sustainability Guide
Paper stationery is lovable stuff. But, as you sit down to write on your Silvine notebook's first pristine page,
the last thing you want is the thought of swathes of rainforest trees being decimated for this moment of pleasure.
FSC® Certified
100% of our product materials are from well managed sources, certified by the FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council®) or recycled.
(License number: FSC® C018241)
Civil Rights
We choose paper from sources where workers civil rights are not violated.
We stay natural
We do not buy paper made from genetically modified trees.
Project 3
For this project, the challenge was in rebranding an established product to attract new audiences, while ensuring that current users feel connected. The results were outstanding.
Legally harvested wood only!
We do not buy paper made from illegally harvested wood - whether from natural forests, or from forests which have been cleared to make way for plantations or other non-forest enterprises.
Monitoring suppliers
We expect our suppliers to conduct their business in an ethical manner.
Project 8
For this project, the challenge was in rebranding an established product to attract new audiences, while ensuring that current users feel connected. The results were outstanding.
Conserving resources
We expect our suppliers, like ourselves, to actively work towards conserving their energy and water usage and the prevention of land, air and water pollution.
Did You Know?
- It's estimated that in Europe alone, forests are increasing annually by an area equivalents to more than 1.5 million football pitches.
- The majority of trees cut down in the tropics are cleaned to make way for agriculture or provide domestic fuel, not to make paper.
- In managed forests, for every tree cut down, three or four are replanted in it's place.
- Paper fibres can be recycled up to six times. Since 2001, the amount of household waste paper and card collected for recycling has increased by 60%.
- Paper is truly sustainable, with waste fully recoverable, ready for recycling into new paper.
