SEN Learning and Silvine

What are tinted products and why do they help studying and revision?

Times are changing, attention spans are reducing and the way we take in information is being effected by that. Alternative ways of learning are cropping up everywhere, especially in relation to Special Educational Needs, otherwise known as SEN  Learning. Coloured overlays, tinted screens and glasses are becoming very popular, these are mostly reading orientated however. At Silvine, we want to bridge the gap between reading and writing, therefore we have developed our NEW Tinted Refill Pads, which come in five different shades -  violet, blue, cream, green and yellow. These are all lined with margin and the papers are made to an education grade meaning you can write to your heart's content knowing your pen will hold up well. Check them out below!

Enough of the boring sales spiel! You are here to find out more about tinted papers/overlays. What do they all do and why are they becoming so popular? Well keep reading to find out more!

Tinted papers and coloured overlays have been found to aid visual learning, memory recall and reduce visual stress, depending on the individual. All of these are compenents within SEN Learning. There are studies to suggest the colours help wording to be seen clearer and stand out on the page. This is because the colours help block specific wavelengths produced on white backgrounds and black text, which some people may struggle with.

You do not, however, need to be a SEN Learner to use these types of products. There are many other uses for them! When learning different topics, students may find it helpful to use specific colours for specific subjects. This is because the colour may create a visual memory trigger, making revision and recall easier during high stress times like exam time.

On top of that, some indivduals may find the colours help with generating ideas and overall creativity.

Need another reason? Pastel shades are incredibly aesthetically pleasing. Watch as your boring revision notes transform into something way more up your street, making studying feel like way less of a chore!
